LINWOOD v. SYDENHAM.
Sydenham winning the toss sent in Woods and Taylor. \Voods was smaruy taken beliind the wickets with the score at 11. Taylor batted nicely for his runs, as did Hayes and Watson. Conradi, a promoted junior, made a start, but was unfortunate to he run out, Hayes starting, but going back. Fraser gave a good display, and his partnership for ninth wicket with Arnold produced 60 runs. He gave a chance when 82. The innings closed for 259 runs. Linwood opened with Bartlett and Grant. Bennett opening the bowling. In his first over he got both Bartlett and Smith without any score. Thomas joined Grant, but at 20 Grant lifted Wilson, Taylor taking a well-judged catch. At 37 Thomas retired hurt, when batting nicely, his score then being 23 out of 37. With six wickets down for 48, Thomas came back at 6.18, but lost Doell with the score at 48.
