Sydennam batted first and scored 91 (Young 61). Thompson taking five wickets for 38 runs and Murfitt threo for three. Marist Bros, replied with C 6 (McCormack 22, Thompson 10). Arnold took four wickets for 27 and McEwin six for 34. Sydenham are now leading in the competition. . i A match was played at Rangiora on Thursday between the Christchurch Technical School and the Rangiora High School. Rangiora made 39 in their first innings (A. Miller lo), and 84 in their second innings (CressweU 24, Hickmott 11, Lyford 10). Ohrktchurch made 84 (A. Hammond 40 3 G.. Pemberthy 28), and four wickets for 10 rune." It. Mehrtens, PemHerthy, and Mooro bowled best for the Techni- 1 cal School, and for the High School, F. j J.
