TRAMWAY BOARD AND ITS COAL SUPPLY.
Speaking to a reporter of *Tho Pross" yesterday, MrTnonipsoii, genera! manager of the Christchurch Tramway Board, said tho Board was not alarmed at tho prospect of any shortago of coal, at least for a long time. It had been - the policy of tie Board to always Jbavo a, big reserve of' coal, ; consequently they were able to regard this aspect of tho strike with • equanimity- Referring to the newly instituted observation cars Mr Thompson said that so far the experiment had not been very cessful, but the care would be run until' December, and given a fair trial.
