THE PUBLIC MEETING.
Regarding the public meeting which the City Council, at its meeting on Monday night resolved should bo called to discuss what steps should be taken to settle the strike, the Mayor informed a reporter yesterday that notico of motion to rescind tln> resolution had been received. It is understood that tho municipal authorities do not intend to tako any steps to convene the public meeting till the motiou proposing the rescinding of the resolution has been dealt with.
