The Chief Inspector of Mines reports favourably on the new mining field at Hall's Peak in the Hillgrove district, which covers a large area, containing copper, lead, and silver ores. The inspector believes that the discovery will lead to the opening of an important new field. The expenditure of a considerable amount of capital will be required to properly test the field, but he confidently recommends that the circumstances warrant the required outlay.
