(Received November 10th, 11.20 p.m.) OTTAWA, November 19.

Tho Marine Fisheries Department attaches little credence to tho report of the loss of the Stefannson Expedition, which possesses every equipment for camping on the ice, even if the ship is lost.

Messages received ou November 10th from Dr. Anderson, on board the Alaska, the supply ship, did not give any Judication of anything being

wrong. The Government is seeking to communicate with the expedition to secure information. A mail will be sent overland from Edmondton, Alberta, by dog team to Herschell Island.
