THE RHODES SCHOLARSHIPS.
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PKESS."" Sir, —From quite aiiother point of Tiow, it is very desirable that the age limits of the Rhodes scholars should bo altered, and. th.it is, from the point of view of iho Oxford undergraduate, who. dicepite his many TV-x»aku«ssee._ ifc far too mapnajiimous to speak for himself on this question. I refer to the fnct that it is distinctly unfair-to Inde at Oxford thatgrown up men of 25 and* upwards, who hare- olrcady had years of university training, ami perhaps taken an M.A. degree with honours at an American or colonini university, should tlten come to Oxford, and coin pete _ for the best -exhibitions and priz<»s with boys who have, so to epoak, just loft school. Can there bo any particular credit in o first class classic., say, of N<w Zealand wresting » classical prize from a callow lad of 20?— Yours, etc., UXDERGBAJ>UATE.
