The L'liairman said be thought it would bo a good thing if in the annual report some statement could be made as to the actual good work done by the certificated roemb&ia of the Association. He would like to bring prominently before the publio the ambulance eyetem, though he thought that the cost of the ambulance might fairly be a charge on the hospital authorities in cases where tfte s/offercre were unable to pay the cost. He should like also to call attention to tiia fact of the existence of a nurees* register, from wJiich the names of competent nurses could be obtained by the public at any time. Bishop urimes said he endorsed all that tbo Mayor had snid about the aims and objects of tfte Association. He congratulated those who had qualified for one of the great objects of the Association. He regretted that there were not more men coming forward to qualify themselves, for first aid skill was as essential for a man as for a woman. The olergy as well ac tie laity ehould qualify themselves to give aid when required. The Hon. C. Lou iasoii moved a hearty vote of thanke to the Mayor, not only, for presiding that evening, but for the'interest he 'had taken in and the time he bad devoted to the Association.
