CANTERBURY A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
The General Committee of the Canterbury A. and Pi Association met yesterday afternoon. Dr. E. G. Levingo, president, was in the chair. Mr J. E. Davenport wrote, forwarding copies of the flock books and reporte presented by The Southdown Sheep Society, also a "set of the Shropshire Breeders' Flook Booke. A vote of thanke was passed to the donors of the books. The Committee of the Agricultural Ooaferenoe wrote, forwarding replies received from the Minister of and- the Agricultural Department, on various matters dealt with by the Conference. Tho Committee desired* to urge the necessity oi memb&rs of local Associations, who had any complaints to make regarding railway matters, bringing them promptly bofore their local Association, co that they could take immediate action.
The B£-crotary of the Afehburton A. and P. Association "wrote, forvrardiiig a resolution of Ilia Association supporting the project the Canterbmy Aesociation contemplated towards raising funds to acquire the freehold of their ground. The balance-sheet for the year showed that the assets totalled £12,063 0s Id, while the liabilities amounted to £5897 9s. The revenue for the year was £3388 4s 6d, and the «cpe.nditure £3146 5s 2dAccounts to the amount of £184 8s lid were passed for payment. Twenty-four suggestions for improving tho annual show were received.
Messrs R. Scarlett, Conway G. Matson, W. M. Matson, H. E. B. Watson, H. Purdie, and A. J. Bell were elected members.
