MASTERTON, February 18. Fine weather was experienced for tiw People's Day, and the- attendance was extreiw&y large, being estimated at of 7000. S. Stamkn secured the championship in the ciasa for purebred Ayrshire cows wit<h Princess May. The concluding awards* in the ihousa sections cau&ed some trouble to the judges. Maodonaxl and Duncan's Conqueror got the championship in thoroughbred stallions. The hack ckssas were large, and the quality good. In draught stallions over 4yis, Nation Bros.' Hereward the Saxon was awarded the ahampion&thip, and t3vo same breeder's Duchess' of Glasgow ILL the dranapionsfop in tho fiJy class. The Masteiton Borough Council's Prince secured the championship in ge.dings. The display in tihe dog classes wae not large, although competition in some eections was fairly keen. 'Slack Bros, accounted for tine major portion of the hoaoore in pigs, including the championelup in Berkshire boar and sow. E. E. Chamberlain annexed the premiership in.Beafcshire bow and iitter. Other honours were distributed eveo.y. The quality of the pigs was good, and secured the approbation of tie judge- The produce entries formed an interesting display, and were thoroughly representative ot an agricultural district like iite Wairarapa- Toe Konini (Pahdatua) Dairy Company was first in butter fox export, and Maeterton second. The bortiicultuiul exhibits were a new departure, and resulted euocesefuHy. The entries were numerous and representative. H. Hassai's Pickpocket (Hawke'a Bay) wae first in the dhampion jumping competition. The jumping was of an excellent character.
