CHARGE OF MURDER.

(PRES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NAPIER, February 17. Prior to the jury being called in the retrial of Moore and Mills this morning, the Crown Prosecutor, acting under instructions from the Solicitor-General, entered a nolle prosequi in respect to the charge of murder against Mills. This prisoner was accordingly removed, and the hearing of the charge against Moore was proceeded with. According to a Northern exchange, it is stated that the jury who heard tlie murder charge against T. F. Moore and Mary Ann Mills in the first trial in the Supreme Court last week, had agreed upon a verdict of acquittal in regard to tlie female prisoner. Ten jurymen are said to hCfe decided to reduce the murder charge to manslaughter against Moore, uut the two others had different views, and were prepared to sit for weeks in support of them, hence a disagreement was recorded.
