THE STEAMER COLLISION
FINE DISCIPLINE ON THE VESSELDAMAGE TO THE WAKATJPU. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright., (Received February 16th, 10.43. a.m.) , SYDNEY, February 16. The Wakatipu had 67 passengers on board. Many of those on both vessels were thrown out of their berths by the shock. Splendid discipline prevailed on the Wakatipu, and there was no confueion. The boats were swung out and provisioned within two and a half minutes .if the collision. The firemen and engineers stuck to their poste till the water was up to their waists. The hole in the Wakatipu is thirteen feet deep, extending five feet below water-lane. The cargo, it is feared, is badly damaged. The 'Eurimbla had a narrow escape. Fortunately she was in light trim forward. There are two huge holee in her bows, extending just above th& water-line to the hawse pipes. All her boats were in readiness with admirable promptitude.
