NOTES
On Saturday evening a deposit of £100, binding the Fritz-Ribbonwood match, waa put up with the secretary of the N.Z. Metropolitan Trotting Club. The match, which is creating a lot of interest, is to be decided at the 'N.Z. Metropolitan Club's Easter Meeting.
While being exercised at the N.Z. Metropolitan T.C. grounds on Saturday, the wellknown trotting gelding What, by St. LouisWhisper, dropped dead. A post mortem examination made by Mr Charlton showed that ihe horse's lungs wore diseased, tho causo of his death being a clot of blood in the heart. What was bred by Mr Buckland in Australia, and last season won several high-class races. On tho conclusion of tho Soiling 8.-co at the C.J.C. Midsummer Meeting on Saturday, Good Spec, by Good-bye—Speo, wrs sold to Mr Hose for £26, and Wimbledon, by St. Clair —Lady Florence, found a. new owner at £10. «
After winning the Lyttelton Plate on the fiist day of the C.J.C. Summer Mee-ting, the Seaton Delaval—Eadiant colt, De la Key. was sold by Mr G. G. Stoad to the gentleman who races tinder th&. turf name C. Mache'l.
