TIMARU.
Our Timam correspondent reporte as follows: — No very reliable prices can be given for grain juat now, as there is so little business doing. With a continuance of the epoll of fina weather experienced last week, it was thought that the reaper would coon Dβ at work on the new crop, but the rain of the pact two days has further delayed the harvest and damaged the crops. A small parcel of new oats was received in town this week, these having been grown at the Rangitata. They quickly changed hands when on the market, but the price was not disclosed. It is calculated here that the market for new oate will open at from Is 6d to Is 9d, and wheat at about 4s, but there is no degree of certainty about these prophecies. Fowl wheat has dropped back from 16s to 12s per sack, and oats have also dropped about 3d per bushel. Flour is quoted at £12 per ton, bran £6, pollard £6 10s, and oatmeal at £13 10s per ton.
