A DREDGE AGROUND.
• HOKITTKA, February 13. A eecondl attempt wae made to floait tie Hokitflca dredge down the .river durang last nigihlt's flood. The dredge, however, grounded on r£be eouMh side of the river about a mile from the wharf. As the rain has ceased toho liver it laSMng, and prob-aibly the machinery cuboard willl be punted down, and the hull demolished where she lies, and floated down for lehnrpmerit to Nelson, in which district tihe dredge will be re-erecited. [The above message is somewhat misleading. All the machinery on the Ho&'ittkai "River Company's dredge was removed from the (pontoons some time ago, was shipped to Neleon, and ie now being carted to the Belle Vue Company'e claim on the Matakitaki river. The oonteactore had the option of floating the pontoons down the . river from Kanieri to Hokitika, in order to save the expense of cartage, end in attempting this the pontoons have gone aground , , and will be taken to pieces and) carted to Hokitika for shipment.]
