The damage don© by the Clyde floods at Rutherglen amounts to eixty thousand pound's. THE PACIFIC CABLE. The x'acifio Cable Board estimates a deficit of £92,000 on the year ending March 1904, lihrowing the responsibility of £30,700 on Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. AiN PUNISHMENT. Owen, the secretary of the New Zealand Premier 'Sunrise Mining Company, was found 'Guility" of embezzlement, and sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment, with hard labour. [Owen was aroested in Lisbon in November, on the charge of embezzling money belonging u> the Premier Sunriee (N.Z.) and other mining companies, and was extradited on January 3rd.. 1 FORGING MR MORGAN'S NAME. Mr Pierpont Morgan's name has been forged to two bills of £11,250, each in connection with alleged purchases of works of art. ** THE HUMBERTS' TRIAL. PARIS, February 11. ' It has been decided to try the Humberts for forgery at the May assizes.
