During the twenty-two yearn from January let, 1881, to December sth, 1902, no fewer than eixfcy-nine peerages and ninetye\x baronetcies "became extinct in England. On the other hand, according to figures published in the preface to the new edition of "Debrett" (Dean), in the came period 136 peers were created, 246 baronets, and 2047 knights.
