INDEPENDENT ORDER OF RECHABITES.
The District Council of the Independent Order of Recliabi4iCß (resumed its fitting at 10 o'clock yesterday morning.
After the roll call 'Hie meeting went into committee to consider suggested alterations to the general laws of tho order.
A proposal from the Gisborne tent- allowing for "the disposal of funeral money by nomination, instead of -Having the nmount paid do tiie next of kin, was withdrawn.
The Carterton tent proposed an increase m the funeral benefits. After considerable discussion the proposal was withdrawn.
A motion by ttie Gisborne tent altering the rates for funeral benefit* was defeated.
The Council adjourned at. 5 o'clock. An enjoyable moonlign* excursion to Sumner took place in the evening.. To-day the Council will sit from 9 a.m. till noon, and in the afternoon the <ielegatee will visit the. Kaiapoi \Vo< m Mills. A concert wL'l be held in tlw Trinity Hall in the evening.
