(SPECIAL TO "THE PRESS.") GRJEYMOUTH, February 11. Tho Paetohta Company's No. 1 dredge is in a fair way of -being got up, and is expected to be clear of water to-night. A number of planks are sprung, but otherwise no great damage waa done. The No. 2 dredge hoe broken the tumbler shaft. The Rockland'e Beach Compa-ny obtained 360z for last week, a record for the claim. Tho wash is improving. Siisres have changed handa. at 10s Cd. The New Greenstone Company's dredge broke the elenator whe«l on ilondav, and is still idle. Thp Greenstone. Creek Company's dredge was idle *11 Tuesday, owing to come disarrangement of tbe pump. The Grey River Extended dredge, which hag been working for a fcrtnij*ht past with indifferent success, bad a breakdown, which stopped work for a, day or w>. The machineis taking a nairrow shallow cut on this side of the river to get on io the rapid a little be'.cw the Brunner bridge, where it is hoped good gold will be struck.
REEFTON, February 11. The mon*frer of tho New Scotia minp reporte th*t the No. 1 level has been extended 15ft. Tbc ground is very hard, with a con>siderablc amount of water coming through.. The Gallant level has been driven south 7fr+. making 22ft on the reef, which is 4ft wide, and gives payable prospects. ' The manager of the Big River mine reports, that during the week 17ft were driven on the reef track, No. 7 level, making a tota-1 cf 54ft. The stoce in th« last 10ft averaged ISm from tte bottom of the drive to 6H up the face. There is a piece of stone in the back of the drive with water coming from it.
The Moknria. Company's dredge broke, the screen \nnk, and has boot laid up for a few {Jays. Tho dredge 19 in good ground. The Buller Junction Company's return last wrrji wae satisfactory. The dredge hits been dredging silt to Friday, and has now got a good iai-e.
