RESISTING THE POLICE.

At the Methven Police- Court on Tuesday, February 10th, before Messrs Morgan and Batty, J.P.'e, David -Hunter was charged with indecency, resisting the police, and damaging Government property to the amount of 235, on February 7th. Accused was fined £2 for resisting the police, and ordered to pay £1 3* damages, in default one month's imprisonment. ALLEGED "THEFT. James Gill and Jae. Smith were charged with breaking into the Alford Forest Hotel and stealing therefrom hnlf a gallon of whiskey, six bottlee of beer, and a bottle of brandy. Evidence was given in support of the charge by two witnesses, including the proprietor of the hotel. Accused were committed for\lrial at the .Supreme Court.
