Peail is very scarce, and is almost, ■unprocurable. Owing to the somewhalt unexpected despatch of the Kent from Lyttelbon on Thursday for South Africa, there has been a good enquiry for ehort feed oats. The execution oi immediate deliveries which have been somewhat <lelayed owing to the' broken •weather haa alao contributed to the improved demand. At country •totione the quotations are Iβ lid to 2s, and at near etations ac much «a 2s OAd has been given for immediate delivery. Long feed are offering freely *fr Is 8d to la 10* at country stations. Several large ar,eas of cocksfoot have cut on the Canterbury Plains thaa eeason, and the quality is exceptionally good and free from Yorkshire fog. The average •weight is about 141b per bushel. The fallowing are the current, prices paid to. farmere, free of commiaedon, except where otherwise specified: — Wheat (nominal)— Hunter's, Tuscan, and Pearl, 4s 7d to 4s 9d, at country etatione. Oats (new)— Milling, 2s; Short Feed, Is 8d to 2s; Duns, Is 8d to Iβ 10d; Danish, la 9d, at country etatione, for February delivery. Barley—Prime malting, 3s 3d to 3s 4d; Cape, 2e 6d, at country stations. Flour (millers' quotations)^—Roller, £12 per ton. Pollard—£6 10s. Bran—£6. Oatmeal—£l4 10s. Ryegrass— WeLl dressed farmers' parcels, 2e and 2s 6d, Italian ryegrass 3s to 5s 3d, delivered. Dairy Produce—Cheese, factory, 5d to 6d, dairy Sd; butter, factory, local, lOJd; North Island, lid, f.0.b., Wellington; fanners' separator, 9d; dairy, 8d to 9d for prime; salt (in boxes), 7d to 8d; hams and bacon, 9d to 10d; factory hams and bacon, £d higher, f.o.b.
