SYDENHAM. A special meeting of the Sydenham Borough Council wag neld last night. Present—The Mayor (Mr J. B. Sim), and Crs. J. Hadfieldi A. Clifford, W. Johnson, A. MoMeekan, A. Smith, G. W. J. Parsons, A. Webb, E. Jones, N. K. Bowden, J. Forrester. In reply to a letter from Mr T. Qarraxd with regard to the proposed technical classes, it was decided to vote £50, being 60 per cent, of the amount guaranteed by the Council. Mr J. Crummy and eight other residents of Avenue petitioned the Council to proceed with the asphalting of Fairfield Avenue as soon a« possible. The petitioners pointed out that nothing had been done, although the Council Lad last winter undertaken to put screenings on the footpaths. It was decided to refer the matter to the

.Works Committee. Mr C. E. McFeddries ■wrote drawing attention to an alleged nuisance caused by noxious weeds on -Mr Throp's section in Sontiiey street.
