Ait the Provincial Ckn_ference of the branches of the Farmers' Union to-day, a motaon that the executive take steps to have the law altered to prevent unfair "trotting" by aniotioneers was carried; also that auctioneers' licenses fees should go *o the County Ocnmcils, and a motion expressing strong disapproval of the department-., cond-tiocas for the use of country telephones was passed, and i. was recommended to tlie branches to make the subscription of members 10s per annum.
