HORSE SALE AT STUDHOLME JUNCTION.
Messrs Guinness and LeCren held a successful horse sale at Studholms Junction yards on Thursday. The entries numbered 109, and there was a large attendance of buyers. The sale started with the unbroken horses in the cattle yards, and the first lot knocked down was a fine three-year-old gelding by Hard Times, owned and bred by Mr J. H. Mitchell, at -346; a filly by Silverstream, belonging to the same owner, fetched £44, while a three-year-old gelding entered by Messrs McGoverin and Hordie was sold at £50 Two two-year-olds were sold at £30 and £35. Mr Owen McKee'B horses quickly sold, the record being taken by a five-year-old bay gelding, which was Bold at £61, and changed hands later on in the sale at a yet higher price. Mr McKee's other horses were sold as follows:—£4B 10s, two at £48, £47 10s, J845 10s, £44 10s, £44, £42, £41 10s, £41, and £26. In the general entries good farm horses sold well, prices ranging from £35 to £49. Hacks were not so much enquired for.
