OXFORD.

At the Oxford sale on Thursday there was an entry of 430 cattle and 2500 sheep. Competition -was very keen for cattle, and nearly every head was sold at satisfactory prices. There was a iarge attendance of both local and Christchurch buyers. Five and six-year-old bullocks made to £11, three-year-old steers to £6 10s, three-year-old heifers to £6, two-year-old steers to £5 10s, do heifers to £6, yeai'lings to £4, calves to £2 15s, springers to £10. There was very little competition for sheep, though they sold well at Addington prices. Fat ewes brought from 12s to 14s 6d, two and four-tooth do 13a to 16s lOd, six-tooth do to 16s sd, store lambs 7s 6d to lis, two-tooth wethers 11a 4d to 14s, aged ewes 5s to 10s 6d.
