The annua. 1 meeting of the Winchester Library was presided over by Mr John Opie. The annua- rtport showed that over 1300 volumes had bmn used, and 51 new books purchased. Tho finances were ratisfaetory, there being a credit balance of £5Messrs A. H. Crusbie, D. McCaskill. S. J. HJtohina. >L. Enwor, W. Harrison, H. Opie, ___,_ J. P. Ka'.augher were elected a cominjttee. At a meet ing of the new committee Mr D. McCaskill was appointed chairman. Mr S. J. Hitchins hon. treasurer, (Hid Mr A- H. Crosbie hon. secretary*. It was resolved to empower the chairman to ret a parcel of new books from Timaru for t spproval of tho committee.
