The latter refused to sell wine. After being severely maltreated by the men, ho was deCi-berattely phot. Stqnes were thrown at his body. There is some doubt as to who fired the Mai shot. A cable message published yesterday stated that a Frenchman named Maillot, after purchasing wine at Lauffer's vineyards, began to destroy the fruit. Mr Lauffer rtu.onstr.ited, and Maillot shot him dead. *
