The citizens of Palmerston North have subscribed more than sufficient for the next contest of the North Island Brass Band Association, to be held at Pahnerston. • GISBORNE, January 30. A meeting of citizens «v held this afternoon to consider a project for holding the 1904 contest of the North Island Bands Association at GJeborne. The Mayor presided, and the meeting was enthusiastic. A committee was appointed to obtain signatures to guarantee an amount, £260 being suggested.
