<FBESS ASSOCIATION' TXXJEtiRAU.) DUNEDIN, January 29. A wool sale -was held to-day, when n busit 19,500 bales were offered. * There v»a a large Attendance of buyer.?, both local and foreign. Fine, halfbred and merino wools suitable for local woollen mills wre in specially strong demand, the k»cal mills being active. Competition was Mrong. Lustrous Lincoln and Leicester vools -were also in improved demand, and all these sorts made a. good improvement on last year's prices. Coarse low grade lmlibred wools showed to the worst advajitage, and were hard to quit at comparatively loir values. The range of prices was:—Greasy merino, 6|d to lOJd; halfbred fleece, s£d to 9^d';" crossbred, 4Jd to Compared with last season's prices, all sorts, low halfbred wools excepted, have established an advance of from Id to l£d per lb.
