AFFAIRS IN ARGENTINE.
NEW ZEALAND COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. (SPECIAL TO "THE FBESS.")
WELLINGTON, January 29. The Minister for Industries and Commerce has received from Buenos Ayres a report on Ai-gentine affairs seat by Mr H- Douglas Daly, representative and* Commissioner of Trade for the New Zealand Government in that country. The report states that enormous crops are anticipated. The Republic hopes to do a really large business with South Africa in the" immediate future, and something over 40 vessels were under charter and advertised to sail for South Africa during last November and December. Mr Daly states that ho has bad several enquiries as to the inducements offered to settlers in New Zealand. The Argentine Government is particularly liberal to eettlere, but great difficulty is experienced in getting titles to land confirmed. The Commissioner adoW that there are promising prospects of getting people from South America to visit New Zealand, especially by making the round tour to include London, the Cape, Hobaart, Ne*w..Zealand, and Buenos Ayres. He hopes and believes that the New Zealand Shipping Company will issue ticket* for such a tour at reduced rates, and be is communicatihig with the local agenta on the subject. The dairying industry is being- rapidly developed. At the time of writing, concludes the report, tie country eee#is to be in a very flourishing condition, «ud' the prospects are that a record harvest is aesnred. The Government of the country is bad.
