Owijig to tho splendid force of water, t!i9 Brigade confined the fire to the rnxMirijitfH in which it originated, and saved tho bark portion of the hotel, but the front is completely gutted. The origin ie h myfUry. The insuivmces total £5700, but the details are not asoerta-inable. The insurances on Dewhler's building are:—Royal. South British, North German, and Commercial Union Companies, £•1000 each. Stock, New Zealand Company, £200. Furniture. New Zealand, Norwich Union, and Commercial Union, £500 each. The private effects of the boarders were insured for £350 in the South British. The total insurances are £6050, but the loss will probably exceed i that amount.-
