THE LIBERTY LEAGUE.
TO THB EDITOB OF THE FHESS. Sir,—lt is stated that the above League is making arrangements for having papers read at subsequent meetings, and also for the delivery of sliort addresses, and for the extension of the League to other districts. This is all very well as far as it goes, but it is not members of the League who are to be convinced if the prohibition wave is to bo checked. Converts to liberty must be made. To accomplish thia prime object the papers and lectures must ba «pen to the public. It would also 'be desirable to extend the scopa of the Liberty League to other interests than those of liquor. Had the basis of the League's operations been broader at first a greater degree of success would have attended its efforts.—Yours, etc., AGITATE.
