UNION ROWING CLUB.
The half-yearly meeting of the Union Rowing Club was held at the Boathouse on Friday. There wae a large attendance of members, Mr F. D. Kesteven. captain, in the chair. The Chairman referred to the advance madie by the club recently, and the general activity amongst the members. The club, s*o far, had won the highest amount of prizemoney, the fleet was in excellent condition, and crews were in active training for the Ghristchurch Regatta. The Treasurer read balance-sheet, which showed the club to be in a good financial position, the only liability being £100, which the Chairman remarked would be paid next November. The assets, which recently have been assessed, are valued at £2015The question of sendinig crews to Wanganui to compete at the Championship and Wellington Regattas was considered, and the opinion was that the club shou'd be well represented. The juniors', maidens", and youths' orews signified their intention of competing.
