MR AUGUSTUS HARE. United Press Association—By E-leotric Teiegraph—Copyright. (Received January 24th, 7.56 a.m.) LONDON, January 23. The death, is announced of Mr Augustus Hare, the well-known author, retat sixtyeigu. yeaxs. Augustus John Cuthbeai Hare was born in Rome in 1834. He was educated at Harrow, and University College, Oxford. His studios have been chiefly directed towards artistic or historic antiquities, especially in the ancient Italy, but his name Ls chiefly known through his biography of 'Maria Hare, entitled "Memorials of a Quiet Life," and Iris "Life and Letters of Frances, liarones-s Bunsen." He was also the author of several other, books. He received the Order of St. Olaf from the King of Sweden and Norway.
