COOLGARDIE WATER SUPPLY.

The great echeme for supplying the goldfields with Mater became an accomplished fact on Saturday, which was a Ted letter day in the history of Coolgardde. On the previous day two special trains conveyed Sir John Forrest, Sir William Lyne, Mr Q. H. Reid, and other Federal members, and a large number of visitors from Perth The influx was so great that many had lo sleep in the train and in tents. The town was gaily decorated, a-nd much enthusiasm was shown.
Sir John and Lady Fonest, in ;i car riage drawn by twenty-four schoolboy--, headed an imposing procession. The ceremonies of turning on the water at the various centres were performed by l.adv Forreat and the Mayoresses of Coolgardie. Kalgoorlie and Boulder city, and into the great dam by Sir John Forrest. Water is now everywhere abundant in the townships at ninepence per hundred gallons, instead of, as previously, three shillings and sixpence and upwards, per hundred gallons, for condensed ivatev.
