(FEEBS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) HAWERA, January 22. The weather was fine for the second day of the match between Auckland and Taranaki. McCarthy and Cole, the not outs, resumed Taranaki's innings, and battea fresiv. At 223 a separation was affected, McCarthy being caught for 35. Cole is not out for 20. Cole added 1, when he was caught. Harcell was run out, - and "Walters did nob score. E.Miott made. 6, and the innings cored for 234. N. Lusk took six wickets for 106, and Barclay three for 44. Auckland opened their second venture with H. B. Lu.<- and Gleeson. The former snaped well, although the bowling. o«peo"ally of McCarthy, was noi conducive to tall scoring, and put on 27 before McCarthy ckan bowlwt him. Gleeson did not remain loc.g, being bowled by Cole when he had made five. Kallender was not even 5o lucky, having two opposite his name w.hen McCarthy found hie wicket. Hemus was clean bowled by the fame bowler before lie could brenk hi/s "duck, and five wickets were down for 44. The last wicket iell for 77, leaving Taranaki victorious jy 152 runs. Mason made 10, X. B. Lusk 14.
