A RECONNAISSANCE.
AWARD OF A VICTORIA CROSS. LONDON, January 21. Lieutenant-Colonel Cobbe, with 450 men of the African Krfles and 50 Sikhs, is starting from Obbia for a fortnight's reconnaissance towards the Gal Kayra Welle, the Mullaihe headquarters. Lieutenant-Colonel Cobbe has been awarded a Victoria Cross for conspicuous bravery at Erego, when the Mullah surprised the British column.
