A CORRECTED EPIGRAM.

CAPETOWN, January 20. According to an earlier cable, Mr Chamberlain, in his Friday's speech, replying to the recent statement of Mr J. B. Robinson, oi the South African Banking Company, that it was impossible for Downing Street to rule any portion of South Africa, was reported to have declared that "neither Boer nor Briton wished to substitute Mark Lane for Downing Street Government." The correction is now mode, that Mr Chamberlain, instead of using the words "Mark Lane" (the money centre of London), referred to "Park Lane," which is the headquarters of Mr Robinson and other South African millionaires.
