MOUNT HUTT.
The Mount Hutt Road Board met on the 12th inst. Messrs Steele and Watt interviewed the Board, offering to pay two-thirds of the coat of repairing the cutting to theii ■ land. It was ttecided to put the work in hand at once. It was decided not to grant extension to contractors, and to enforce the penalties for overtime. The Count} Council engineer's attention is to be drawi to the blocking of storm water in the Mount Harding channel, at Barker's road. Mi G. Harper forwarded opinion on certain points connected with flood water from tjj* Dry Creek- The district railway engineea wrote that it was not deemed advisable to remove the fence at the railway yard. It was decided to prepare a petition pointing out the advantages that wou-'.d result from its removal. The Ashburton County Council wrote advising that a committee to adjust the accounts between the South Itaiain and Mount Hutt Boards would meet on January 27th. The clerk was instructed to a*k the requirements of the Committee. Mr J. Puff was re-aippointed ranger.
