NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The opening of the tennis courte and croquet lawns of the St. Albane Bowling, Tennie, and Croquet Club, will take place on Saturday, 3Lst January, at 2.45 p.m. The Conference of delegates of local bodies re the statutory half-holiday will be held to-night, at 7.30 o'clock, at the City Council Chambers.
The: jiert of the series of meetings in St. Albane in connection with Greater Christehureh will be held to-night, at tne Knighbstown Library. The New Brighton Tramway Company's timetable for to-morrow, on the occasion of the gala, appears elsewhere. The entries for the ram sale under tne auspices of the Canterbury A. and P. Aasociation, which takes place on February sth, at the Show Grounds, will close on 'January 28th with the secretary.
Messrs Haroourt and Co., in accordance ■with an order issued by the Supreme Court, will sell by auction at their rooms, Wellington, on February 13th, dredge, punt, and macliinery on the Special Claim of the Kangaroo Creek G-D. Co., Ltd., at Kangaroo Creek, Grey River, Westland. For further particulare see advertisement in this issue. 8
