TO THE EDITOB OF THE rBESS.

Sir, —I notice that Messrs Davey and Ell are nominated for election on the Tramway Board. These gentlemen were electet' to represent the city at the laet general election, and from an elector's point of view are ineligible to take office on tlifl Board 7 . How could these gentlemen attend to their duties in the House and at the same time attend regular meetings of the Board, and on the other hand' ihow could they attend regular meetings of the Board wlwn they are away for four months in the year, attending the Parliamentary session at Wellington?

If Messrs E!l and Davey are elected, will the Tramway Board adjourn their business until the close of the Parliamentary session, or will they make periodic trips to Wellington and hold their meetings there for the convenience of Messrs Ell and Davey r Perhaps tli-e inauguration of Marconi's system of wireless telegraphy a* a prelude to an elective tramway wrvice will be necessary to enable the" "Joard to consult--with Messrs Davey and Ell by Marconi-gram-s.

Ruling the introduction of some such means of communkation, I cannot verr well tee how Messrs Davey and Ell would be able to satisfactorily carry out their dual capacities as members of the House and as members of the Board. It would b« interesting to kr.ow what system th?se gentlemen intend to adopt, if elected.— Yours. *tc, B. [Mr Ell has retired.—Ed. "The Press."]
