EDUCATION BOARD SCHOLARSHIPS.
The folqwing are the results of the examinations for senior scholarships held by the inspectors of the North Canterbury -Bowd of Education during December last. "The number of competitors Was 25 (boys 16, girla 9). The Maximum number of marks obtainable was 900, and the following are the names and marks of the seven candidates standing highest on the list: — *1, Clifford A. Stubbs, Rangiota High School, 704 marks; 2, Laura Christensm, Girls' High School, 702; 3, Don&.d B. MacLeod, Boys' High School, 644; 4, Margaret E. Herbert, Girls' High Scliool, 632 : 5, Amy Irene Wilson, Girls' High School, 619; 6, David Sinclair, Boys' High. School, 595; 7, tfercy K. Quartermain, Boye' Higtt School, 594.
For the scholarships of the junior class the following are the successful candidates. Number of competitors 113 (boys 57, girl* 56). Maximum marks obtainable 650:—.1. Philip V. Norman, Aabburton, 447 inarms; 2, Edith L. Lechner, Ashburton, 456; 3, Florence E. Smith, Elgin, 435; 4, Bireham' Turner, Amberley, 428; 5, Bertha Robson, Ohristehurch West, 425; 6, Marian Addinell, Eyreton West, 417; 7, Leonard J. W. Thwaites, Port Robinsoti, 414; 8, Ruth Dyson, Southforook, 413; 9, Tbomas A. Fletcher, St. Albane, 406; 10, Hazel Rogers. Amberley, 402; 11. Beiitrice H. Hemmings! Samner, 395; 12, Stanfev S£ar«J, Cust, 391.
