Friday Evening. The Sydney "Town and Country Journal" reports that there are five full cargoes of Manitoba flour fixed for Sydney, in addition to some thousands of tons in partcargoes (sailers and steamers), arriving up to July next. The i>denmore, a sailer, from Tatoma, has a lull cargo of Washington Hour (Wiiite Wings brand), the greater portion of which has been sold to arrive. Also, cargo of Starr's Baker's Extra (Californian flour), on board the Blythewood, sailer, now on the way from San Francisco. The White Wings iluur hiv been placed at £11 5b per ton. Manitoba rlour, to arrive, is now worth £12 10s (Sjduey), but lor large parcels for cash tins price is shaded. The comparatively loiv prices lor Manitoba liour have already induced Sew Caiedonia buyers to operate largely in it.

[Several hundred Ions; of indiau wheat have been received at jielboiune by steamer from Calcutta. There is still no local business to record in grain and produce, and quotations are purely nominal. [Several larmers have been endeavouring to seli their new seasons oats for forward delivery, but buyers do not care to operate until the weather for harvest is more settled, and some idea of values can be obtained from outside demand, it is reported, however, that a line of 1500 bushels of new Canadians has been sold at 2s 5d on trucks at Chertsey. Our Leestou correspondent writes that since the holidays several lines of wheat have changed hands at 5s 3d for Pearl, and 5s Id for Tuscan, at country stations, and a mixed line of short berried wheat at 5s sdy delivered. Hβ also reports that a line of 10,000 bushels of feed Danish oats, together with 150 sacks of milling Canadians, were placed at 2s 6d, f.o.b. These sales have practically cleared out the Leeston district of last year's grain. The following are the current prices paid to farmers, free of commission, except where otnerwise specified: — Wheat (nominal) —Hunters Tuscan and Pearl, 6s to 5s 3d, at country stations. Oats (nominal) —Long feed 2s 6d to 2s 7d, short feed 2s 7d to 2s Bd, milling Canadians 2s 8d to 2s 9d, at country stations. Barley (nominal) —Feed 3s to 3s Id, at country stations. Flour (millers' quotations)— Roller, £13 per ton. Pollard—£6 10s. Bran—£6. Oatmeal—£l4 10s. Oatsheaf Chaff—£4 2s 6d per ton, at country stations. Dairy Produce—Cheese, factory, 5d to 6d, dairy 5d ; butter, factory, local, ; North Island, lid, f.0.b., Wellington; dairy, 8d to 9d for prime; salt (in boxes), 7d to 8d; hams and bacon, 9d to 10d; factory hams and bacon, id higher, f.o.b.
