Thompson was said to be drinking at. my hotel, and left, and then came back and continued drinking. The way you ihave put it is quite different to the Ashburton paper. When the poor fellow left my place he was perfectly sober, and the second time he came back the man never had a drink. My mother cut him a bag of vegetables to take away with (him up the gorge.—l am, etc., W. J. A. CLOY. Mount Somers Hotel, Mount Somers.
