KAIAPOI.
At the monthly meeting cm Mondaj there were present—Messrs FeWwick (chairman), Doubleday, Clark, Makay, Ellen, and Blackwell. It was stated that Miss Menzies had received leave of absence for three weeks, and Miss Adkms, who had been recently appointed, jroul-d ha.\e to leave owing to a decrease in the attendance. The Board wrote that Mr Toomer's contract to erect brick outbuilding's was accepted. The headmaster reported the school average for the past year to have been 417—three below the nuinbei , required to maintain the present etaff. Alter discussion, it was decided that na twonty-two pupils were eligible, and th* Committee hud all conveniences, that ttw Brard of Education be asked to declare the school a District High School. Mr Biaekwell . moved the motion, and Mr Doubleday seconded ft. Accounts £8 7* wwre passed for payment. It was decided that silver medallions be presented to boy* who won the marching competition* of 1901 and ISO 2.
