For loitering and importuning Catherine Stephenson was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. ILLEGALLY ON PREMISES. Thomas Bell was charged with having been found illegally on Messrs P- and D. Duncan's premises/and with having lefustd to leave when requested. Ho pleaded "Guilty" to the first portion of the charge, but "Not guilty" to tha second portion. After hearing evidence the eiecused was fined 10s and costs. A STRANGE CASE. Matthew Kussei'l appeared on a charge of having been found in a helpless state of drunkenness. Sub-Inspector Dwyer, in asking that the accused be remanded for medical treatment, stated that he had been found at half-past eleven o'clock on Suuday night, with his liands tied, and bearing signs of having been in the river. The remand was granted. ALLEGED THEFT OF STAMPS. Walter E. Rose, charged with the theft of stamps and a gold watch and chain, the property of C. J. Fryer, was remanded on the application of Chief Detective Chrystall till the 19th.
