AUSTRALIAN MEN AND WOMEN.

A RUSSIAN CRITICISM

United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received January 9th, 9.40 a.m.)

MELBOURNE, January 9.

M. Krakoff, the Russian Commissioner, interviewed repeated the charges of want of industry among Australian farmers. He said he was surprised that women and girls did not help the farmers more, aud added: "Women do not want to work. They prefer to play and go to picnics, and read novels." .'•',- People here, be said, did not marry sufficiently. Mm feared to marry, because they did not want the burden of an extravagant and useless wife. .

Australians, according to M. Krakoff, eat too much delicate food, and not the good, strong food which would make them strong and healthy.
