. _ The contest between the United and Sydenham teams was, continued at H&gley Park on Saturday, when the former gained a strong lead. KJOllivier; and Hair put on 116 for the last wicket in the Uriited's v innings. Scores:— Sydenham 59 and 100 for four wickets (Allardyce 39 and A. Robscn 37 not out); United 326 (Hair 67, W. Harman 59, K. Ollivier.46not out, J. H. SmitJi 36, S. B. Wilson 34, Taylor 27, Rolleston 24, E. J. Cotterill 18, and W. Wood 10.) West bowled best for Sydenham, and Harman and Kitto for the United.
In the match Midland v Lancaster Park the former failed to maintain the advantage they gai&ed on the opening day, and the Lancastrians promise to win easily. Scores: —Midland 158 and 70 (C. Prebble'2o, J. B. Keese 16, and T. Prebble 12); Lancaster Park 158 (H. Stringer 67, Mason 31, Weaher 27, Atkinson 14, and Young 11).. Mnrley bowled well for the Lancastrians, taking seven wickets for 28 runs. .
