The new Stars made by the Eadie M'f g Coy., Ltd., England, are designed with special forks and steering tube to make the front portion of this machine safe. The neck o! the steering tube is the vital part of the bicycle now that riders have the. saddle over the crank axle or bracket. To meet the alteration in the position of the rider the steering tube is made taper, very strong at the neck, and gradually tapering to the top, and to further strengthen the steering tube a feather liner one-eighth; thick is placed edgeways in the direction of the strain, to prevent the steering tube from bending and being weakened when the machine is ridden against some obstruction, for sooner or later the weakened steering tube will break at the neck and let the lider fall to the ground.
