MUSICAL.

THE LIEDERKRANZCHEN "AT HOME." The members of the Liederkranzchen, under the baton of Mr Wells, gave their third "At Home" for the season at the Art Gallery on Saturday afternoon. To those who were present on the occasion, listening to the part songs must have been a genuine treat, for nothing better in the way of ladies' singing has been heard for a. long while. The concert opened with Rubinstein's beautiful part song "The Wanderer's Night Song," bracketed with "The Night Hymn at Sea" by Goring Thomas. The others were— "Our home shall be," by Smart, in which the solo was taken by Miss Hardy; "Serenade" by Schubert; and "At Peep of by Horrocks. They were all excellently sung, though, perhaps the one which was best of all, , at any rate that which took I the fancy of the audience most, was the "Serenade," in which Miss A. Gray, who was in excellent voice, took the solo part. It was beautifully sung and enthusiastically encored. "At Peep of Dawn" was the last item on the programme; it was sparkling, and the audience had evidently not become tired of the concert, for they would not leave until it was repeated. The Misses Kirk and Webley sang the vocal duet "The Angelus," in which the other members took part in the chorus. Miss Kirk also sang "Summer's Here," by Cowan, and Miss Webley the "Gleaner's Slumber Song." Miss , Fairclough, who has a sweet voice, sang "Only a Rosebud" prettily, and being encored gave Lassen's "All Souls Day." Altogether the members of the Liederkranzchen, with. Miss Fairhurst, the energetic secretary, are to be congratulated upon the success of their "At Home."
